SEN School (SEMH & ASC) in Tower Hamlets is currently recruiting for a well-qualified KS3 Art Teacher / Teacher of Art (ie PGCE/ SCITT/ GTP /Cert Ed/ Teach First / QTS or QTLS). This is a long term and full-time contract to start in September 2022!
Children who attend this successful SEN School have been diagnosed with SEMH /ASC with some complex needs. Very much a well-run SEN School with an exemplary SEN Teachers / Senior Leadership and Behaviour Support Staff. Teaching has been observed as "Good" with some outstanding features. All new SEN Teachers will need to be able to demonstrate this also in a lesson observation. Class sizes are small, typically between 4 - 8 students per class.
In September 2022 a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for either an ECT or Experienced Teacher of Art / Art Teacher / SEN Teacher who is available for a 4 day a week contract. You will only be short-listed with this role if you can demonstrate you have completed a teaching qualification; ie PGCE/ GTP/ Teach First/ Cert Ed/ SCITT/ QTLS or QTS. You will be teaching Art at KS3 & its essential you have experience teaching at the this level in either a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)/ SEN School (ie SEMH)/ Alternative Provision/ Secondary Mainstream School. Additionally, you are passionate about working with children and focused on helping them become the best versions of themselves! You have great SEN experience; SEMH/ ADHD /ASC/ ODD/ ADD/ PDA/ CAMHS/ Behavioural Challenges etc. You will have experience with children who are on EHCPs (Education Health Care Plans). The successful KS3 Art Teacher is able to build a really strong rapport with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You can build a strong rapport with children and have a great sense of humour! You are a creative teacher who is able to plan, mark and deliver fun and engaging lessons.
