Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in Bexley is currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to start a long-term post immediately.
Children who attend this PRU have been diagnosed with SEMH / Complex Needs /Behavioural Difficulties. Children who attend are between 11 - 18 years old. The successful Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker / Learning Mentor/ SEN TA / HLTA/ Child Support Worker/ Child Residential Worker/ LSA will be able to show on their CV that they have worked with children diagnosed with either; ASC/ ADHD/ ADD/ ODD/CAMHS / SEMH / Complex Needs and or Behaviour. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be able to effectively de-escalate challenging behaviour safely and effectively. Also you will be able to build a strong rapport with the young person(s) on both a 1:1 basis and within groups. In addition you will be empathetic, resilient, dedicated, pro active and focused on safeguarding children with education. You must have worked with SEN pupils in some capacity at either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/Residential Children s home/ Youth Centre/ SEN School or Mainstream School.
