Alternative Provision located in Westminister is currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor who is available to start work immediately.

Full-time and long term contract position Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker/ SEN Teaching Assistant /HLTA/ Youth Worker/ Teaching Assistant role. You will have worked in a either a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ SEN School /Alternative Provision/ Mainstream School or Youth Centre. You will be working with a child(dren) on a 1:1 basis and potentially working with a small groups. Your SEN experience will be varied; ie ASD/ CAMHS/ ADHD/ SEMH/ PDA/ MLD/ ODD/ADD/ Challenging Behaviour/ Complex Needs. Additionally you must have worked in an educational setting such as a PRU/ Provision/ Mainstream School/ SEN School / Youth Centre with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. This role will also mean that you are resilient and able to successfully de-escalate behaviour and engage children well.

Successful Behaviour Mentor:

  • Your SEN experience with young people; ie SEMH/ MLD/ ASD/ ADHD/ PDA/ ODD/ ADD/ CAMHS/ Complex Needs/ Behaviour
  • You have a minimum of 6 months in a SEN Support role; ie Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor/ SEN TA/ Teaching Assistant / Youth Worker/ HLTA
  • You have worked in either a Youth Centre/ PRU/ Alternative provision/ SEN School/ Mainstream School in a support role
  • 1:1 and small group experience
  • You can build a really strong rapport with children and successfully de-escalate behaviour.
  • Great personality, calm, positive and want to make a difference to SEN children!
  • You live in commutable distance to Westminister
