New Provision located in the borough of Greenwich is recruiting for a part time Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). This is either an immediate or January 2022 start.
This provision catering to children diagnosed SEMH and ASD on essentially on Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs). The Head is a true visionary, experience and has a robust Senior Leadership Team with welcoming SEN Teachers and Support Staff. Children who attend are at KS3 & KS4 levels.
Opportunity has arisen for a part time DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) to start immediately or January 2022. In this Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) appointment, you will be in charge of ensuring & leading legal procedures, in addition the procedures in safeguarding via the Local Authority are effectively executed. Your SEN and safeguarding experience will ideally within a pastoral capacity. You have either been a Designated Safeguarding Lead OR Assistant Headteacher (AHT) / Deputy Head Teacher (DHT), Assistant Principle (AP)/ Vice Principle (VP). You MUST have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Designated Safeguard Lead and preferably have a DSL Qualification.
You have strong expertise and understanding of the safeguarding of children and young people in education. In this senior post, you will take the lead role of coordinating & supporting the provision of pupils on a child protection plan, the promotion of child welfare, ensuring the best interests of the child and especially vulnerable students at risk of harm. You will have a wealth, expertise & knowledge with Safeguarding children which can be proven from your current or previous employer. You would have obtained this experience in either a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision / SEN School and/or Mainstream School.
