Sixth Form College in Lewisham is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a fixed term contract to start in August 2022!
This is a mainstream, this college also has a successful SEN provision which essentially caters to pupils who have been diagnosed with different needs; ie ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, MLD, SEMH, Behavioural Needs and Wheelchair users. All children are able to access their learning easily also. Their age range between 16 - 19 years. Supportive and successful College with an exemplary Head of Centre who is a true visionary. Supportive Behavioural staff and SEN Teachers.
The successful LSA or Mentor / Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor/ Youth Worker /SEN TA / HLTA must have experience working in either Mainstream School / College / Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Child Residential Home or Youth Centre. In this role you will be working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, building a rapport with children, de-escalating behaviour if required, helping children with their lessons, ensuring the safeguarding of children and being a positive role model. Additionally you will have fantastic SEN experience with children and young people; ie MLD/ ODD/ ADD/ CAMHS/ SEMH /ADHD/ Wheelchair Users/Autism and/ or Challenging Behaviour. All students are able to access their learning.
