Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in West Drayton, Hillingdon is recruiting a Behaviour LSA (Learning Support Assistant) for a permanent post to start in September 2022!
Inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that caters to children diagnosed with SEMH / ASD and Complex Needs. New permanent position has arisen for a Behaviour LSA for a 5-days-a-week. This new role will entail building a rapport with a child on a 1:1 basis and at times small groups, de-escalating challenging behaviour, safeguarding children and being resilient and not taking things to heart. Class sizes are small and typically up to 7 children per class with a number of Behaviour Mentors/ SEN TAs in class including the SEN Teacher.
You must have worked in wither an Alternative Provision / PRU/ SEN School / Mainstream School or Youth Centre and have had some interaction with children who have been diagnosed with varied SEN; ie SEMH/ ODD/ ADD/ ADHD/ CAMHS/ Challenging Behaviour etc. You will have 1:1 and small group experience in a child support post. Additionally, you have experience working as either a Child Residential Worker/ SEN TA/ Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor/ LSA/ HLTA/ Teaching Assistant or Youth Worker.
