**PRU - Merton (SW London) - Temp to Perm PE/ Sport Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Immediate Start**

Innovative and creative Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is recruiting for a well-qualified Sport/ PE Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is available immediately! Students who attend have been diagnosed with either SEMH/CAMHs/ ASD/ Behavioural Difficulties and are on EHCPs (Education Health Care Plans). Students who attend are of Primary and Secondary ages, however the new HLTA will be working in the Primary department.

To be considered for this exciting temp to perm position, you must have a HLTA qualification and worked within a PE / Sports department as a HLTA or experienced Learning Mentor/ Behaviour Mentor/ SEN TA/ Youth Worker/LSA. Additionally, you must have worked in a support role in either a Alternative Provision/ PRU/ SEN School/ Youth Centre/ Mainstream School with children with SEN. You have great SEN experience; CAMHS/ SEMH/ ASD/ ADHD/ ODD/ADD and worked with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. Additionally you have fantastic PE/ Sport experience either coaching or supporting children; ie Football/ Basketball/ Rugby/ Athletics / Gymnastics/ Hockey/ Netball and or trampolining etc. As a HLTA, you will be managing support staff and teaching PE/sport to Primary age children with good understanding & knowledge of children on EHCPs.

The Successful HLTA:

  • You must be a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (FLTA) with the certificate/ qualification
  • You most recent experience will be as either a HLTA or experienced SEN TA / Behaviour Mentor / Learning Mentor/ LSA/ Teaching Assistant
  • Must be confident in teaching PE/ Sport to primary children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups in this senior post
  • Great SEN Experience; CAMHS/SEMH / ADD/ODD/ ASD / PDA/ Behaviour
  • Your PE/ Sport experience; ie Football/ Basketball/ Netball/ Gymnastics/ Trampolining/ Athletics and or Rugby
  • Working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis and small groups
  • You have worked in either an Alternative Provision/ PRU/ Mainstream School and or SEN School
  • You are in commutable distance to Merton (SW London)
