Alternative Provision located in Merton is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor. You must be confident helping children their academic studies and they are open to the subject area (ie Music/ Maths/ Science/ Design Technology/ IT/ ICT etc). You will be available immediately!
This is a full-time and long term contract position! The successful Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker/ SEN Teaching Assistant /HLTA/ Youth Worker/ Teaching Assistant must have worked in a either an SEN School (behaviour)/ Alternative Provision/ PRU/ Mainstream School / Youth Centre. You will be working with a child on a 1:1 basis and potentially working with a small group of children, so you can show evidence of this. Your SEN experience will be varies; ie ASD/ CAMHS/ ADHD/ SEMH/ PDA/ MLD/ ODD/ADD/ Challenging Behaviour/ Complex Needs. Additionally you must have worked in an educational setting such as a PRU/ Provision/ Mainstream School/ SEN School / Youth Centre with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. This role will also mean that you are resilient and able to successfully de-escalate behaviour and engage children well so they start to work well in their academic studies.
