Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Greenwich borough is currently recruiting for a well-qualified teacher & SENCO. This is a part-time, long term position to start in September 2021.

Children who attend this PRU have been diagnosed with either SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Behaviour Difficulties at KS3 & KS4. Supportive, accommodating and SEN Teachers, SEN TAs and robust and successful Senior Leadership. All new staff must have a passion for working in an SEN environment with children, empathetic, resilient and consistent in their approach.

The PRU would like to appoint a well-qualified teacher (PGCE/ GTP/ Cert Ed/ SCITT/ Teach First/ QTS) and a SENCO qualification is preferred, however IF you do not have the SENCO qualification, you must have considerable experience working as a SENCO or Inclusion Manager/ SEN Coordinator. This is a long term and part time post to commence in September 2021. You must have worked in either a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / SEN School / Alternative Provision (AP) or mainstream school. As a SENCO you will be expected to lead, support & develop the SEN provision. Also, you will be expected to support, lead and develop the practice your students with behaviour & learning needs. Additionally, you will be expected to ensure you're young people with SEN make good progress in line with expectations of this PRU in. As well as leading the provision you will be an outstanding teacher of your subject

  • Very well-qualified Teacher; SCITT/ Teach First/ PGCE/ QTS/ GTP
  • Would be preferable you have a SENCO qual
  • Your current /most recent job title; SENCO / AHT with SEN/ SLT/ SEN Coordinator/ Inclusion Manager
  • Experience leading a provision for SEN either an Alternative Provision/ PRU/ SEN School / Mainstream School
  • Must have experience monitoring the impact of teaching and learning activities and the progress made by children with SEN
  • Able to provide a strategic vision for the provision and able to raise standards of SEN student inclusion, attainment & achievement by the monitoring & support of student progress.
