Pupil Referral Unit in the Lewisham is currently recruiting a SENCO who is also a qualified Teacher. In the first instance, this position is part-time and will eventually be full time. Additionally it is a temp to perm post to commence in September 2021.
Not all pupils at this Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) have Education Health care Plans (EHCPs), however those children who don't have one will be assessed to see if they need to be on one. The PRU is on two sites. For the most part, children have been diagnosed with either, SEMH, ADHD, ODD, ASD, Behaviour. Children who attend are between 11 - 16. Supportive & accommodating SLT, SEN Teachers & SEN TAs. Staff are passionate about working in SEN an environment with young people and want to make a difference.
Brand new opportunity for a well-qualified teacher (ie SCITT / PGCE / GTP/ Teach First/ Cert Ed / /QTS/ QTLS). It is preferred that the SENCO has a qualification and will be favoured over someone who doesn't have the qualification. However IF you do not have the SENCO qualification, you must have significant experience working as a SENCO /Inclusion Manager/ AHT/ DHT/ or SEN Coordinator. This is a temp to perm position for an exemplary and outstanding SENCO. This is initially part time but will increase to full time after a term. In a SENCO / SEN Coordinator/ Inclusion Mange role, you must have worked in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ Mainstream School or SEN School. As a SENCO it is expected that you will support, lead & develop the SEN provision on both of their sites. You will be expected to support, lead and develop the practice your pupils with behaviour & learning needs. Also you will be assessing children and if they require an EHCP in addition to your other SENCO duties. You are a good to outstanding teacher within your subject area.
