SEN Teacher or Maths Teacher (PRU)

Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Newham which caters to SEN pupils with learning and behaviour difficulties is recruiting either a Maths Teacher or SEN Teacher to start in September 2022.

This is a supportive and inclusive PRU with a strong Senior Leadership, SEN Teachers and Support Staff. Children who attend are between the ages of 8 - 18 years old and all have EHCPs.

Due to increased student role this role has been made available to start in September 2022 in this fixed term contract. You will be a well-qualified Maths Teacher / SEN Teacher or Mainstream Teacher (ie PGCE / Teach First/ SCITT/ Cert Ed. / Bachelor of Education / QTS/ ITT/ GTP/ QTLS). The successful SEN Teacher/ Maths Teacher must have experience with varied SEN such as SEMH/ ODD/ ASD/ CAMHS/ PDA / ADHD/Behaviour etc. Additionally, you have worked in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision / SEN School or Mainstream School as a teacher. You will be teaching children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, empathetic, able to build a strong rapport and able to de-escalate behaviour effectively. You will be able to plan and deliver creative, fun and engaging lessons/

• SEN Teacher or Mainstream Maths Teacher (available September 2022)
• UK-recognised teaching qualification (ie Teach First / PGCE/ ITT/ SCITT/ Cert Ed/ GTP / QTLS/ QTS)
• Minimum of 2 years teaching in either a mainstream school OR SEN Setting (ie SEN School/ /Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision)
• Able to teach a minimum of a "Good" Lesson.
• Your SEN Experience PDA/ ODD/ SEMH/ CAMHS/ ADHD/ASD/ Behaviour
• In date DBS with the update service or able to pay for one immediately
• Live in OR able to commute to Newham.
