Have you worked as either; Learning Mentor / LSA/ SEN TA/ HLTA/ Teaching Assistant/ Youth Worker or Child Residential Worker?

Have you worked in either; ASD Unit/ Alternative Provision (AP)/ DSP Unit/ Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ Child Residential Home/ Youth Centre or SEN School?

Do you have experience working with; ASD Children and Young People?

Do you live in commutable distance to; The Greenwich borough?

IF you've said YES to the above this could be the right role for you! Currently recruiting an LSA at an SEN School (ASD)who ideally has ASD experience with children and young people in the borough of Greenwich for after the Easter break.

The Vacancy:

  • Full time - 5 days a week - School Hours - Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in an ASD Unit
  • Working through agency
  • Supporting ASD child(ren) on a 1:1 basis/ small groups
  • Can successfully build a strong rapport with young people and children
  • Can engage children well and assisting with their school work
  • Safeguarding children at all times
  • Ensuring you are working to child(s) school timetable and supporting the child in all aspects of school life.

The Successful LSA:

  • Recent and good experience working as either as either an; LSA (Learning Support Assistant) / ASD Teaching Assistant/ Learning Mentor/ Youth Worker/ Behaviour Mentor/ HLTA /SEN Support Worker/ Child Residential Worker/Teaching Assistant (**minimum** of 6 Months)
  • You; Calm Demeanour, Patient, Excellent Time Keeper, Can Successfully Stick To A Routine, Pro-active, Consistent, Dedicated And Focused On Safeguarding Children And Young People.
  • You must have worked in either; ASD Unit / Mainstream School/ DSP Unit/ Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ Alternative Provision(AP)/ SEN School / Child Residential Home or Youth Centre
  • Your SEN experience with children; ie ASC/ ASD /ADHD/ ADD/ PDA/ODD etc
  • You have experience working with young people on a 1:1 basis / in small groups
  • Can build a strong rapport with young people.
  • You are; Empathetic, Compassionate, Resilient, Dedicated, Have a great sense of humour, Can successfully de-escalate behaviour (if required_
  • Will have an; Enhanced DBS (on the update service) OR able to pay for one immediately
  • Must live in or easy commutable distance to the Greenwich borough
