SEN School (SEMH & ASD) in the Greenwich borough is currently recruiting a well-qualified Teacher of Science / Science Teacher /SEN Teacher. This is a Maternity Cover to start in September 2022.
This is a larger than average SEN School (SEMH & ASD) with an exemplary Head, Senior Leadership, SEN Teachers and Behavioural support staff. At this School, the SEN Teachers and behavioural staff are empathetic, dedicated, supportive and consistent in their individual roles especially ensuring the safeguarding of their pupils. Children who attend have been diagnosed with either ASD/ SEMH/ Complex Needs. Typically class sizes are very small, between 5 - 8 children per class.
This role would suit a well-qualified Teacher of Science/ Science Teacher (ie Teach First/ PGCE /GTP/ Cert Ed/ SCITT /QTS/ QTLS). This maternity cover is a full time 5 day a week role is open to either an ECT (Early Career Teacher) or experienced Science Teacher who can offer General Science from KS3 to GCSE. As a well-qualified Science Teacher /SEN Teacher/ Teacher of Science you must have a strong STEM background and have good experience teaching the UK curriculum. You must be able to plan, deliver and teach fun, engaging, creative lessons! Additionally, you have great SEN experience either working in a mainstream or an SEN setting; ie ASC/ASD/ ADHD/ SEMH/ CAMHS /ODD/ADD/ Challenging Behaviour etc. You must have taught General Science in either a Mainstream Secondary School/ PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School. Outstanding, passionate and excellent Head of Science with a wealth of experience within both a mainstream and SEN setting. Additionally is able to lead with clear example, guidance and is definitely a supportive Middle Leader.
