Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bexley is recruiting an empathetic, resilient and dynamic Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor to start ASAP or January 2022.

Pupils who attend this PRU will have been diagnosed with either; ASD/ SEMH / Complex Needs/ Behaviour Challenges. The pupils ages range between 7 - 17 years old. This is a Welcoming and Successful PRU with an exceptional Headteacher who is a true visionary. Supportive SEN Teachers and Behavioural staff. The successful Youth Worker/ Mentor / Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor/ SEN TA / HLTA or LSA must be able to demonstrate on their CV that they have worked with young people & children with SEN; ie CAMHS/ SEMH/ ODD/ ADHD/ ASD/ ADD / MLD and/ or Behaviour Difficulties. As a Youth Worker / Behaviour Mentor you will be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis as well as children in small groups. You will be assisting children with their behavioural difficulties, with their work, ensuring that they are applying themselves, de-escalating their behaviour and successfully building a rapport. Also you must have worked in either a Youth Centre / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision/ SEN School / College or Mainstream School.

  • You must have worked with children in as either a Behaviour Mentor/ Youth Worker / Learning Mentor/ LSA/ HLTA/ SEN TA / Teaching Assistant etc
  • Must have experience working in either a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ Youth Centre / Provision / College/ SEN or Mainstream School
  • Worked as either a Learning Mentor / Behaviour Mentor / HLTA/ SEN TA/ LSA or Youth Worker
  • Worked with young people on a 1:1 basis and in small groups (ie Primary, secondary or college levels)
  • Able to successfully de-escalate behaviour, resilient, able to build a strong rapport with children, able to help children with their academic studies, dedicated, empathetic with a great sense of humour!
  • Can easily commute to Bexley
  • Able to commit to a FULL TIME position.
