Deputy Headteacher - SEN

We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Headteacher for an ambitious SEN School in Lambeth. You will be apart of an exciting new project with the School converting to an academy in September 2022.

It is a lovely School located in Lambeth who cater to students aged 11-19 with a variety of special needs. There are great facilities on site such as a hydrotherapy pool, large gym with equipment, sensory rooms and arts and crafts rooms to name a few. You will be supporting the Headteacher to deliver the highest possible educational standards in the school, and create a stimulating learning environment to get the best out of the students.

This is a full-time, permanent role to start in September and the salary is L10 - L14 (£60,701 - £66,114).

Some of your duties will include:

• Deputise for the Headteacher in his/her absence
• Ensure there is a continuous focus on pupil learning and progress
• Reporting to the Governing Body on School performance
• Establish relationships with all parents/carers to involve them in the pupils' learning and school activities
• Identify staff training needs so the staff are effective and students can excel under their supervision
• Ensure high standards of behaviour from all staff in the school, promoting positive engagement, independence and accountability
• Liaising with agencies

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Experience in teaching in a SEN School
• Leadership experience at the senior management level in a mainstream or special needs School
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
• Experience of contributing to School improvement
• National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) (Desirable)
• QTS
