A Pupil Referral Unit based in Dorking; Surrey is looking for a full time KS2/3 Teacher. You will be teaching students with emotional behavioural difficulties and will have learning support assistants to support you. This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible on a long-term basis to cover maternity leave.
The School are also happy to consider applicants who have not taught in a PRU setting before so if you are a mainstream School Teacher and looking to make your first step in to teaching students with SEMH and challenging behaviours then please do get in touch.
You will be teaching KS2/3 students in a lively and modern Pupil Referral Unit, with ages ranging from 7 to 16. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). There are great facilities on site such as a large, equipped sports hall, as well as a smaller gym and a football pitch. The school has a range of specialist classrooms including craft design, IT and food technology to name just a few.
To be considered for the role, you must have:
· Ability to prepare and teach effective lessons, considering the individual needs of the students
· Qualified Teacher Status
· Good behaviour management
· Able to commit full time
· Have an in-date DBS or prepared to carry out a new DBS
