We are working with an SEN primary school in Sutton that provides education for pupils with ASD and other complex needs and they are looking for a Student Support Assistant to work with their PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) cohort.
This is a Special Educational Needs primary school, so the students are aged from 4-11 years old, and most of the children have Autism.
The school are looking for someone who is sporty, into gaming and happy to take part in Outreach work.
With this role you would be working both in school and outreach. All the pupils have a PDA profile so an understanding of that is key. You will need to have a very flexible approach to go with the interests of the pupils through a 'backdoor learning' approach and keep anxiety levels to a minimum.
Due to the outreach work it would be desirable if you could they drive and have a car but If not, the school will provide taxis so that you will be able to visit the pupils receiving Outreach.
8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday
Pay £75 to £90 per day
This is a role to start after the Easter break so if this sounds like the role for you then please apply ASAP.
