Are you looking for a new role as a SEN learning support assistant, supporting students with ASD, SLD, PMLD and complex needs? If so, this role could be ideal for you!

 

We have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced and passionate SEN learning support assistant at a Special Needs School in the Sutton area in a long-term role with a view to going permanent. The School caters to students aged 7-18 who may have ASD, severe or multiple learning difficulties. There a few opportunities available across all key stages. Your job roles may include 1:1 work with students, assisting the teacher with managing class behaviour and setting up activities for the students.

 

A lot of staff at the College use Makaton or PECS to communicate with pupils (although these are not essential when applying for the role.) Other additional training such as Sign along, Team Teach or manual handling will also be helpful.

 

Pay rate for this role range from £70 - £80 a day depending on experience.

 

Applicants must:

  • Have experience in working with children with special needs

  • Experience managing challenging behaviour

 

There are several facilities on site such as a swimming pool, football pitch, arts and crafts room, digital learning room and a library.
