Primary School located in the borough of Newham is recruiting for an SEN TA (attachment disorder & ASD).  This is an immediate on going long term position.

New opportunity has arisen for a long term SEN TA (ASD & attachment disorder) / Senior TA / LSA /Behaviour HLTA / Teaching Assistant / learning mentor who essentially has experience with pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour, especially attachment disorder. You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1 pupil. The pupil needs an SEN TA/ Learning Mentor/ Behaviour TA/ Behaviour Mentor who is nurturing, consistent, flexible and passionate about working with children and wanting to make a difference. There are instances where there is challenging behaviour displayed, however if you are the type of SEN TA who has experienced with attachment disorder and ASD and able to build a strong rapport, you will gain the child’s trust. You are committed to safeguarding young people and children.  It is imperative that you have worked in either a mainstream or SEN school or an Alternative Provision & have would be worked with students on a 1:1 basis and at times within small groups.


  • Worked with pupils with either attachment disorder /challenging behaviour and or ASD
  • Able to build a strong rapport with children & young people
  • You are either an SEN TA/ HLTA/ Behaviour Mentor or LSA etc.
  • Essential that you are nurturing, consistent, empathetic and understanding
  • Experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
  • You are confident to be left alone to deal with a disruptive pupil
  • You are focused on safeguarding pupils
  • As an SENTA/ Behaviour Mentor / Learning Mentor/ HLTA you are resilient & don’t take things to heart
  • In date DBS with the update service
