Alternative Provision located in Hackney that caters to children with Autism and SEMH is recruiting for an SEN Teacher.  Immediate, full-time and long term role!

Pupils are on an EHCP and are of Primary ages up to post-16. The Headteacher is focused and a strong Leader and practitioner in SEN. Staff have exemplary SEN experience in an SEN setting (ie PRU / Alternative Provision / SEN School or a Mainstream School.  All new teaching and support staff must have great experience, understanding & knowledge of SEN pupils who are on EHCPs.  Teachers must be able to demonstrate a minimum of a “Good” lesson.

Exciting opportunity for a well-qualified SEN Teacher (ie Teach First/ SCITT/ PGCE / QTS/ ITT/ GTP/ CertEd).   The successful SEN Teacher will teach one or more subjects and have experience working with pupils with SEMH/ CAMHS/ ADHD/ Autism / Challenging Behaviour.  You will have worked with pupils at Secondary and post 16 ages. Additionally, you must be able to teach and deliver a minimum of a “Good” lesson. It is imperative that you have worked in either an Alternative Provision / PRU/ SEN School or Mainstream school (with SEN children) 

  • Well Qualified Teacher ( ie SCITT/ /PGCE/Cert Ed/ GTP / Teach First / QTS – open to subject area (s))
  • NQTs and Experienced Teachers welcome to apply
  • Experience working in either an Alternative Provision/ SEN School / Mainstream School or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
  • Able to teach a minimum of a “Good” lesson
  • Can de-escalate behavioural pupils
  • SEN Experience; Autism/ SEMH/ ADHD/ CAMHS/ behaviour / EHCP pupils
  • Excellent knowledge of your subject (UK curriculum in Teaching and Learning)
  • You live in commutable distance to Hackney
