We are working with an SEN school based in Sutton who are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to start after the half term break.

The SEN Primary School provides specialist Teaching and therapy for up to 60 children aged 4 to 11 years whose primary need is Speech, Language and Communication. Some children may also have additional learning or sensory integration needs. A large percentage of pupils also have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The abilities are wide ranging, varying from pupils who meet cognitive milestones to pupils with complex needs.

The successful candidate will need experience and a willingness to manage children with ASD (both verbal and lower functioning) and SLCN. You should also be experienced in developing and nurturing the play skills of young children, as well as identifying the next steps.

The School are looking for someone who is resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour.

Small classes with high adult to child ratio enable children to settle quickly, move confidently around the school and learn the daily routines which form an integral part of school life.
