SEN School on the Bexley borders is recruiting for a qualified SENCO. Temporary, full time position to start ASAP! 

Popular SEN School with a strong SLT, Middle Managers, SEN Teachers and Support Staff!    The learners who attend this SEN School range from 11 – 19 with a variety of SEN, ie SEMH, ADHD, Autism, Behavioural Difficulties & Medical Needs etc. New members of staff must be resilient, consistent, focused on safeguarding students and have a keen interest, experience and passion for SEN in Education. 

The SEN School would like to take on a qualified, talented and creative SENCO to commence a long term post who is available straight away.  To be considered for this SENCO post, the client is looking for someone who is either in a similar post / SEN Coordinator / Inclusion manager or either a Deputy SENCO / Assistant SENCO ready to step up to a SENCO post.  Your SEN experience has been in either a mainstream school / Alternative provision / PRU / College.  The successful SENCO will be expected to manage, support, lead, and to develop the provision.  Also as SENCO you will need to lead, support & develop the practice your learners with learning and behaviour needs.  Essentially you need to make sure that your SEN learners are represented in  an effective way.  Your pupils must make quick progress in line with expectations of this SEN School in Bexley. It is expected that as well as leading the SEN provision that you are an outstanding teacher in your subject. 

  • You are a qualified Teacher (Teach First / GTP / PGCE/ / SCITT/ QTS etc)
  • Preferable if you have a SENCO qualification
  • Must already be a SENCO / SEN Coordinator / Inclusion manager OR either a Deputy SENCO / Assistant SENCO ready to step up to a SENCO post
  • You have experience leading the provision for special educational needs and disabilities within either an SEN School / Mainstream School / SEN School/ Pupil Referral Unit
  • You have good experience in in monitoring the impact of Teaching and Learning activities & progress made by students with SEN
  • You must be able to provide a strategic vision for the SEN department and essentially able to raise standards of SEN student inclusion, thAeir attainment & achievement by the monitoring & support of student progress.
  • Must have experience in liaising with Support staff, HODs, teachers, & parents about students with SEN and, if necessary, referring students to appropriate external agencies for assisted support
  • In easy commutable distance to Bexley borders
  • In date DBS with the update service or able to complete one ASAP
