Alternative Provision in the borough of Greenwich is currently recruiting for a fully qualified teacher & SENCO . This is a full time position to commence in January 2020.

 

Larger than average and Popular Alternative Provision with a strong Senior Leadership Team. Middle Managers, Teachers and Support Staff are exceptional members of staff who all attribute to the success of this Alternative Provision. Students who attend this provision range from 11 – 18 and have a number of needs such as SEMH, SEBD, ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour & Medical Needs etc. It is imperative that new members of staff are consistent, conscientious, dedicated and have a clear passion for education and working with students with varied SEN. The client would like to appoint a well qualified, talented and creative SENCO to commence a long term post in January 2020. It is imperative that you have been a SENCO for a minimum of 2 years and preferably your experience has been in either an SEN School/ Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit or in a Mainstream School. As a SENCO you will be expected to lead, support & develop the SEN provision. Additionally you will be expected to support, lead and develop the practice your students with behavioural & learning needs. As SENCO, you need to make sure that your pupils are represented in the most effective way. Additionally you will be expected to ensure your students with SEN make swift progress in line with expectations of this Alternative Provision in Greenwich. It is expected that as well as leading the SEN provision that you are an outstanding teacher of your subject

 

  • Must be a well qualified Teacher (PGCE/ QTS/ GTP/ SCITT/ Teach First etc)
  • Preferable if you have a SENCO qualification
  • Must already be a SENCO / Assistant Head with SEN/ SLT/ Middle Manager
  • Must have experience leading the provision for special educational needs and disabilities within wither an SEN School / Mainstream School / Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit
  • Experience in monitoring the impact of teaching and learning activities & progress made by students with SEN
  • You must be able to provide a strategic vision for the SEN department and essentially able to raise standards of SEN student inclusion, their attainment & achievement by the monitoring & support of student progress.
  • Must have experience in liaising with Support staff, HODs, teachers, & parents about students with SEN and, if necessary, referring students to appropriate external agencies for assisted support
