SEN Teacher with BSL

Are you an experienced SEN Teacher, having taught children with hearing, speech, language and communication needs? If so, this could be the ideal new role for you!

 

We are currently recruiting for a SEN School in Wandsworth who are looking for a Teacher of the deaf to start full-time in September 2019. The salary is equal to the main pay scale plus SEN points.

 

This is a superb, vibrant and modern mixed school with the ages of the students ranging from 10 to 19. The school have a lot of highly qualified staff, including Teachers of the Deaf, Speech and Language Therapists an Occupational Therapist to name just a few. The facilities are fantastic, with lots of options for the learners.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in the school
  • Be responsible for the preparation and delivery of appropriate teaching materials considering age and ability groups
  • Organise and manage teaching assistants and other classroom staff to maximise the outcomes for students’ learning
  • Identify clear teaching and learning objectives, and specify how they will be taught and assessed

 

You will need:

  • BSL Level 2 or above.
  • Experience in teaching hearing impaired students
  • Full qualified teacher status
  • Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.

 

In the schools latest Ofsted report in 2016, the school received a ‘good’ grade and stated that the students make progress which is significantly above national expectations. The Lessons are enjoyable, and pupils respond with high levels of concentration and motivation. The head teacher is inspirational and has set the standard for an inclusive school where every pupil is valued highly.
