Job Title: Behaviour LSA (1:1, Small Groups, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Behaviour Difficulties, MLD)

Location: London Borough of Lewisham

Contract: Fixed-Term 5 days a Week Contract

Daily Rate: £80 - £110 (depending on experience)

Reputable SEMH School located in the London Borough of Lewisham is recruiting a Behaviour LSA to work Monday to Friday for an immediate start!

You will have experience working with children and young people on a 1:1 basis with diverse SEN experience; ie ASD, ADHD, Behaviour, MLD etc.  You will have experience working in either an Alternative Provision, SEN School, PRU or SEMH School within the classroom.

Class sizes are small, typically between 5 - 7 per class.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with teaching staff & the SENCO
• Providing 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs
• Implementing behavioural plans & providing strategies to support the emotional and social development of pupils.
• Work with small groups of pupils to provide academic and pastoral support.
• Provide support during transition periods and assessments.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Monitor and report on student progress to the SENCO and teaching staff.

Requirements:

• Experience working with pupils with additional needs, including MLD, SEMH, Autism, ADD, ADHD, Behaviour Challenges
• Excellent communication skills (Written & Oral)
• Able to successfully de-escalate behaviour if required
• Can build a strong a rapport with children & young people
• Having the ability to implement behavioural plans and providing different strategies to support student development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• You have an enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one
• Able commit to a 5 day a week role (not suitable if looking for part time work)
• You must live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Lewisham
