Successful Alternative Provision located in Harlow, Essex is recruiting for a long-term Science Teacher / Teacher of Science contract to start ASAP or after the October 2021 half term.

This is an outstanding Alternative Provision and fantastic place to work with SEN Teachers who have been graded a minimum of "Good" in observations, fantastic SEN TAs and Behaviour Mentors and experienced SLT. The Head is a true visionary and he is focused on running a successful provision. Students have been diagnosed with Complex Needs and SEMH and are ages between 8 - 17 years old.

Due to higher student role this term this post has been made available for a well-qualified Teacher of Science / Science Teacher who has worked in either a mainstream secondary school or SEN School/ PRU/ Alternative Provision. You will have a strong STEM background and able to teach Science at KS3 up to GCSE. This role would only suit an NQT of experienced Teacher of Science/ Science Teacher(MPS or UPS) who has a teaching qualification; PGCE/ SCITT / Teach First / GTP/ Cert Ed/ QTLS/QTS. You will be teaching small groups of children between 5 - 6 pupils maximum in a class. The successful Teacher of Science / Science Teacher, you are great at de-escalating behaviour pupils; ie CAMHS/ SEMH/ ADHD/CAMHS/ Autism/ ODD/ ADD. Your teaching history will have been within either a Pupil Referral Unit(PRU)/ Mainstream Secondary School /Alternative Provision or SEN School (SEMH).

  • Your experience with SEN children; ODD/ ADD/ ADHD/CAMHS/Autism/ MLD/SEMH /Challenging Behaviour
  • NQT & Experienced Science Teacher (MPS or UPS) welcome to apply
  • You must with a strong STEM background with great understanding of the UK curriculum (KS3 - GCSE Science)
  • You are open to or potentially can teach a 2nd subject.
  • You have worked in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision /Mainstream Secondary School /SEN School
  • You have a great sense of humour, resilient, empathetic, passionate about teaching SEN pupils and able to make learning fun!
  • You either drive or in easy commuting distance to Harlow, Essex via public transport
