Pupil Referral Unit on the borders of Bexley is recruiting for a well-qualified teacher & SENCO. Initially part-time (then will be full time), covering a long-term sickness to start immediately!
This Pupil Referral Unit is on two sites not all Children have Education Health care Plans (EHCPs), however those children who don't, have one will be assessed. For the most part, Children have been diagnosed with either SEMH/ ASD/ Complex Needs. Children who attend are at both Primary & Secondary levels. Supportive and welcoming SEN Teachers, Behaviour As and Senior Leadership Team. All new staff must be passionate about working within an SEN environment with children and young people.
Due to a long term sickness, this exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified teacher ( ie PGCE/ Teach First/SCITT /GTP/ Cert Ed/ QTS/QTLS) who is also a SENCO already. It is preferred that you have a SENCO qualification is, however IF you are ALREADY a SENCO, the client is willing to look at your application. This is an ongoing long-term role until at least the end of the term and potentially into the new year. Initially this role is part time, however will eventually increase to full time. It is essential that you have SENCO/ Inclusion Manager experience in either a Pupil Referral Unit/ Alternative Provision/ Mainstream School/ SEN School. As a SENCO it is expected that you will lead, support & develop SEN provision on both sites. Additionally, you will be expected to support, lead and develop the practice your Children with behaviour & learning needs. You will be assessing students and if they require an EHCP amongst other duties. Additionally, you will be expected to ensure you're young people with SEN make good progress in line with expectations of this provision. You will also be an outstanding teacher within your subject.
