Primary Teacher or SEN Teacher (PRU)

Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) which is located in the borough of Bexley is recruiting a Primary Teacher or SEN Teacher for a full time permanent appointment in September 2022.

Innovative and Creative PRU that is inclusive, supportive & welcoming with outstanding staff. Children who attend the have either SEMH and Behavioural Difficulties, all of whom have EHCPs. All teaching staff are either well qualified SEN Teachers or Primary Teachers (ie Teach First/ PGCE/ SCITT/ Cert Ed/ BEd with QTS/ QTS or QTLS). All teachers who work in this PRU have been observed a minimum of "Good" in lesson observations. Typically class sizes are very small (maximum of 8 children per class), which essentially gives teaching and support staff the opportunity to really engage the children on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. In your classes, you will have SEN TAs in your class assisting you. The pupils in your class would be Primary ages but maybe mixed ages, depending on ability. This full-time permanent role would suit either an ECT or Experienced Primary Teacher / SEN Teacher who can plan, deliver and mark fun and engaging lessons.

• You are a well-qualified SEN or Primary Teacher; (ie Teach First / BEd wth QTS /SCITT /PGCE/ Cert Ed/ GTP/ QTS or QTLS)
• Must have some SEN Experience; (ie SEMH / Behaviour Difficulties/ Learning Difficulties/ ADHD/ ASD/ ADD/ ODD/ Complex Needs)
• You have worked in either a Mainstream Primary School / PRU / Alternative Provision or SEN School with Primary Students
• ECTs or Experienced Primary Teachers/ SEN Teachers are welcome to apply
• Must be able to demonstrate a "Good" Lesson as a minimum
• Must be empathetic, proactive, calm, dedicated, resilient and can build a strong rapport with your pupils
• Can easily commute to the borough of Bexley
