Alternative Provision in Hackney is currently recruiting a resilient and dynamic Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor to start a full time post immediately.
Students who attend this Alternative Provision will have been diagnosed with either ASD or SEMH with Behavioural Difficulties. The children's ages will range between 7 - 17 years old. Supportive and successful Alternative Provision with an exemplary Headteacher who is a true visionary. Supportive Behavioural staff and SEN Teachers. The successful Youth Worker/ Mentor / Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor/ SEN TA / HLTA or LSA must be able to demonstrate on their CV that they have worked with young people & children with SEN; ie CAMHS/ SEMH/ ODD/ ADHD/ ASD/ ADD / MLD and/ or Behaviour Difficulties. As a Youth Worker / Behaviour Mentor you will be working with a child on a 1:1 basis and children in small groups. You will be assisting them with their work, ensuring that they are applying themselves, de-escalating behaviour, building a rapport with them and being a positive role model to them. Also you must have worked in either a Youth Centre / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / Alternative Provision/ SEN School / College or Mainstream School.
