State-of-the-art SEN **NEW** School (SEMH), which is situated in the Highgate, Haringey area would like to appoint a permanent and full time, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is also open to a SENCO post.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who may not have the SENCO qualification but who is confident enough to work in a SENCO post also.   This would be a great opportunity as usually in SENCO roles you must have the qualification! 

Outstanding employer, where their CEO and Founder has great vision for this new SEN School.  Pupils who attend are all on EHCPs so it is imperative that the new HLTA / SENCO has good experience with SEN pupils who are on EHCPs.  Additionally this SEN school caters to pupils from 8 – 18 years old who have mild SEMH and have been diagnosed with anxiety.  You must have experience in working with SEN pupils (SEMH / ASD/ ADHD/ Anxiety, SEN) on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.  It is imperative that you have experience in teaching pupils and have been in a similar post in either an SEN School / Alternative Provision/ PRU/ Mainstream School.  You will have experience managing and leading SEN TAs and able to lead with example.

  • You are either be a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) who wants to ‘step up’ to a SENCO post or already a SENCO **you do not ned the SENCO qualification**
  • You have worked with SEN pupils; SEMH/ ADHD / ASD/ CAMHS or pupils with anxiety
  • Experience working with pupils who 1:1 or within small groups teaching
  • Excellent experience and knowledge of EHCPs
  • Dedicated to the well-being and safeguarding of SEN pupils
  • You are pro-active, resilient, empathetic and knowledgeable with SEN students
  • Worked in either an Alternative Provision / PRU / SEN School or Mainstream School
  • MUST live in easily commutable distance to Highgate, Haringey
