Larger than average Alternative Provision located in the borough of Bexley is currently recruiting for an LSA specialising with challenging behaviour (ie SEBD/ SEMH/ ASD/ ADHD etc).  Immediate full time long term post!


This provision have been rated Good via ofsted, with some outstanding feature.  Essentially this  Alternative Provision has a strong Senior Leadership and supportive managers & leaders.  Teachers and support staff have been graded Good to Outstanding and all new staff must be able to mirror this standard.       They work exceptionally hard with their students who require specialist assistance.  Support staff need to be resilient, dedicated, consistent, and able to build a strong rapport with children and young people. 


New exciting vacancy for an LSA  (SEN TA/ SEN Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Learning Mentor) to work with 2 pupils on a 1:2:1 basis and there will be occasions where you will need to work with pupils within small groups.  The successful LSA will have been in a similar post (ie SEN TA/ SEN Teaching Assistant/ HLTA/ Learning Mentor/ Behaviour Mentor/ Teaching Assistant /Youth Worker).  Your SEN experience must be in either SEN or mainstream school (ie SEBD/ SEMH/ ASD/ ADHD/ challenging behaviour etc).  As an LSA/ Behaviour Mentor/ LSA/ HLTA / Teaching Assistant /Youth Worker you will be calm, empathetic, resilient, firm but fair.   You will have a proven track record building a strong rapport with your pupils.  


  • Must be either a  SEN TA/ SEN Teaching Assistant/ HLTA/ Learning Mentor/ Behaviour Mentor/ Teaching Assistant /Youth Worker
  • You have worked with young people  or children (secondary or primary pupils)
  • SEN experience with challenging behaviour (ie SEBD/SEMH/ EBD/ASD/ ADHD etc)
  • Must have minimum of 6 months in mainstream or SEN Schools in a support post.
  • Able to build a strong rapport with  young people & children
  • Experience working in small groups and/ or on a 1:1 basis in a support post
  • Calm under pressure, patient and dont take things personally
  • Able to build a strong rapport with your pupils
  • Dedicated to safeguarding pupils
  • In date Enhanced DBS with the update service
