If you are a qualified Science Teacher, looking for an exciting teaching role in a Pupil Referral Unit, then look no further as this role is ideal for you!

 

An ‘outstanding’ Pupil Referral Unit based in Sutton are looking for a full time Science Teacher to teach at GCSE level. You will be teaching students with emotional behavioural difficulties and will have learning support assistants to support you. This is a maternity cover role to start in September and is 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday).

 

The salary is either MPR/UPR, depending on experience; there is also a SEN allowance (SEN1) currently worth £2,106 and a TLR allowance will be available for a suitably qualified teacher.

 

You will be teaching in a lively and modern Pupil Referral Unit for secondary aged children, with ages ranging from 11 to 18. The facilities at the school are second to none, and there is a large equipped sports hall, as well as a smaller gym for the learners to use. The school has a range of specialist classrooms including craft design, food technology and music to name just a few.

 

In the schools latest Ofsted report in 2015, the School received an ‘outstanding’ grade and stated that the students made good progress during their time at the school. The students particularly progressed in English and Maths and the proportion of students achieving GCSE passes is now increasing. Students say that the School is a safe place to be and the teaching is good.

  • A proven record of teaching Science
  • Ability to prepare and teach effective lessons, considering the individual needs of the students
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Good behaviour management
