Alternative Provision on the Bexley borders is at present recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full time and immediate start.

 

This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor or already a HLTA who has had experience teaching on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. The successful HLTA / Learning Mentor/ SEN TA / Teaching Assistant must be able to demonstrate on their CV that they have worked with SEN pupils with challenging behaviour, i.e. ASD / SEMH/ SEBD / ADHD etc. Due to the type of pupils at this Alternative Provision the successful candidate must have adequate qualifications to teach pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.

 

The role would be predominantly teaching Religious Studies and two GCSE classes of Art.   Your SEN experience will be with KS3 & KS4 pupils. Supportive staff and Senior Leadership Team. Good to Outstanding practitioners and effectively a great place to work. Additionally they offer excellent CPD and training.

 

Successful Candidate:

 

  • You have an appropriate qualification (HLTA Certificate / Relevant Degree or Relevant Masters)
  • You are either already a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant ) / experienced SEN TA /Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor
  • Must be able to demonstrate that you have taught SEN pupils Art & Religious Studies
  • Worked with pupils on a 1:1 and within small groups
  • Experience working with SEN Pupils with challenging behaviour; SEMH/ ASD/ ADHD / SEBD
  • Calm, Resilient and do not take things seriously
  • Clear passion and experience teaching
  • As a HLTA / SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor, you must have a ‘can do’ attitude, work well under pressure & committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children & young adults
  • Worked with pupils at KS3 & KS4
