SEMH Learning Support Assistant

We are working in partnership with a fantastic SEN school based in Croydon who are looking to recruit a number of SEMH Learning Support Assistants to start in September.

This school has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted, something they are very proud of.

This is a multisite academy and caters for children from KS1 to KS4.

All of their pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties with associated challenging behaviour; many have additional needs, including: Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties.

They offer a nurturing approach to education and social development. They employ a therapy team, working in a range of different disciplines such as play, music, drama, art and family and Lego therapy.

Roles and Responsibilities: SEMH Learning Support Assistants

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis, or in small groups
• Manage challenging behaviour
• Concentrating on using different techniques to make sure that each and every pupil achieves their goals.
• Inspiring children to reach their potential

The ideal Person for this position will have: SEMH Learning Support Assistants

• Experience/knowledge of supporting young people with SEMH
• Updated clear DBS
• Great communication skills
• Capability to remain calm
• Punctual
• Reliable
• A sense of humour
• To be able to build rapport with children and young people
