Exceptional opportunity has arisen for an SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English who has potentially able to teach a second subject.   The successful MPS or UPS SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English (+ SEN points) must have worked with SEN students for this permanent January 2020 post. You would be working in The Medical Needs Provision. This provision will offer education for students who are unable to or struggling to attend mainstream education for either physical or mental health reasons. Additionally the absence is supported by either CAMHS or a medical consultant. To be considered for this SEN English Teacher / Teacher of English post you must be well qualified (PGCE/QTS/ Teach First / GTP/ SCITT). This role will be teaching through the Key Stages & you must have excellent knowledge of the UK curriculum.

 

  • Mainstream or SEN Teacher of English / English Teacher cert (PGCE/Team Teach/ SCITT/QTS / GTP etc)
  • Preferably you can teach a 2nd Subject
  • Must have taught English Language & English Literature in an SEN or mainstream school/Alternative Provision (NOT an EAL/ ESL/ EFL/TEFL /ESOL/ TESOL etc post)
  • Able to build a strong rapport with your pupils.
  • Able to teach a “Good” to “Outstanding” lesson
  • You have taught English at Primary and/or Secondary levels
  • Excellent knowledge & experience teaching of the UK  curriculum
  • Your SEN teaching experience has been with challenging behaviour  pupil ( ie SEMH, ASD, EBD,  etc)
  • Dedicated, Consistent, Adaptable, Dedicated and strong classroom practitioner
