Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the borough of Greenwich is currently recruiting for either a MPS or UPS well qualified SEN Teacher of PE/ PE Teacher (PGCE/ QTS/ GTP/ Teach First etc).  This is for a long term January 2020 start


Larger than average Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) caters for children & young people with EBD, SEMH, ASD and challenging behaviour.  Strong SLT and Middle Leaders, exceptional teaching practitioners and support staff.  At this PRU, teaching staff have been graded as either Good or Outstanding practitioners. All teaching staff must be well qualified to work here (ie PGCE/ Teach First / SCITT/ GTP/ QTS). It is imperative that all new teachers are able to successfully demonstrate a minimum of a Good lesson. They offer an excellent CPD programme & training.   Staff are approachable, supportive, compassionate, calm and easy-going.   Pupils at this Greenwich Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)respond very well to creative, fun, engaging lessons. 


Due to an increased student role, this new and exciting position has arisen.  |Full time, long term position for an ASD SEN Teacher of PE/ PE Teacher (MPS or UPS). It would be preferable if the SEN PE Teacher / Teacher of PE our pupils has experience teaching BTEC but not essential for the post. You would have taught at KS3 & KS4 as a minimum. There would be elements of challenging behaviour difficulties so would suit someone who is able to support pupils like this. It is imperative that y0ur teaching experience is either in a PRU /SEN School OR mainstream school.  You will have worked with SEN students who have challenging behaviour, especially ASD/SEMH/ ADHD.  The successful practitioner must be able to effectively plan and deliver fun, engaging lessons

  • UK recognised SEN or mainstream Teaching Qualification (ie PGCE/ GTP/Teach First/ QTS/ SCITT etc)
  • MPS or UPS SEN PE Teacher
  • PRU/ Alternative Provision/ Mainstream or SEN school teaching experience
  • Able to demonstrate SEN teaching experience with pupils with challenging behaviour (ie ADHD/ ASD/  SEMH/ EBD  etc)
  • Must be able to teach a minimum of a “Good” lesson
  • Preferably can teach BTEC Sport/ PE
  • Can teach a minimum of KS3 and KS4 PE (KS5 is desirable)
  • Dedicated to the safeguarding of children and young people
  • Can successfully demonstrate teach a fun and engaging lesson
